Squirrels, the company behind the popular AirParrot, Reflector and Slingshot apps, has just released AirParrot 2, the long awaited sequel to AirParrot. This upgrade is available for Mac and Windows, and it introduces major new features along with “drastically” improved performance.
In our report on Apple TV 6.1 update, we mentioned the new ability to scan for AirPlay devices via Bluetooth, in addition to the normal searching over WiFi. At that time, we couldn’t attach much significance to it, as it only helps to find devices and not to conduct AirPlay Mirroring via Bluetooth. We’ve always loved the wonderful keyboards from Logitech and also their Harmony series remotes for media players and consoles. Now, the giant peripheral maker is fusing these two categories in a new product and the resulting alloy is what is called the Logitech Harmony Smart Keyboard. It is said to be specifically designed for the Apple TV and “similar living room devices”, but with support for over 225000 devices from 5000+ brands and the ability to work even within closed cabinets, Logitech expects the Harmony Smart Keyboard to be a one-remote solution for all your living room needs.
Till a couple of days back, finding Apple TV‘s product page on Apple.com was a bit difficult thanks to its mysterious location in the Accessories section for iPods. Generally I used to resort on Google to find it rather than taking the pain in browsing through the website. However, that shouldn’t be a problem from now on, as Apple TV has been promoted to occupy one of the tabs besides Mac, iPhone, iPod and iPad at the Apple online store. In addition, Apple TV now has its own pages for accessories, community and refurbishes.
