I have a YouTube channel where I upload gameplay videos of the games I find interesting. But it has been a bit idle recently thanks to the dearth of good screen capturing softwares. I have been researching to find an ideal one, but most of them are directed towards Mac. As a PC user, I finally got the desired results with AirServer.
It’s September 19, so iOS 6 should be with us any minute now. Once you install it on each of your iDevices, don’t forget to check out the newest version of AirServer (for Mac or PC) which has already been re-engineered for iOS 6. The new AirServer includes 1080p HD mirroring, content streaming and better support for video-on-demand apps like Netflix. The PC version hits version 1.0 and is now feature complete, with audio, movie and photo streaming.
AirServer, an AirPlay receiver that enables you to stream audio, videos, photos, and photo slideshows to your Mac, Windows PC or iOS device, has been just updated to version 4.4 that adds desktop mirroring support for Mountain Lion. The new version of AirServer also adds support for high resolution mirroring from iOS 6 and Mountain Lion, support for fast user switching and some optimizations for MacBook Pro Retina.
Good news for old Apple TV owners (yes, there are still some lovers of the ‘original’ shiny box of joy out there): App Dynamic, the same company that first brought AirPlay to the old Apple TV has just announced that AirPlay implementation on the 1st generation Apple TV is now complete as they have released a Remote HD update that enables AirPlay audio streaming to the old Apple TV as well as direct personal video streaming from iPhone’s camera roll. The new version also automatically installs Perian on AppleTV’s (if not installed already).
