Reflector 2 brings support for Google Cast

As many of you might already know, the Reflector app turns any Mac or PC into an AirPlay receiver, so you can mirror your iPhone or iPad directly to them. Squirrels, the company behind the popular AirParrot app, pushed out a major update to Reflector a couple of days back: Reflector 2 shows considerable love to non-Apple users as it picked up support for Google Cast.

Don’t you love it when best things get even better? Well, our favourite AirPlay browser for Apple TV – AirBrowser, just got a major update and we’re loving it.

You might remember that we did a comprehensive review of AirBrowser last year, when we were blown away by its ease to get connected, intuitive interface and tutorials, lag-free surfing, Mac-like gestures, multi-tab support and custom features.

Along with OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 and iOS 8.3, Apple today released a new Apple TV firmware. According to the official release note, Apple TV Software Update 7.2 only includes “general performance and stability improvements.”

Beamer is a Mac app that brings AirPlay mirroring to Macs, but is specially optimized for (and tops the native OS X mirroring in) streaming movies to your Apple TV (read our full review of Beamer 1.0 and about their 2.0 update, which brought a great interface and some cool new features). Microsoft Xim app can now AirPlay to Apple TV

Microsoft Xim, launched back in October, brings a very useful concept to life – sharing photos across devices, just for viewing. Instead of a dozen friends hurling around to see the party pics on my phone or mailing the vacation photos to all my family members, I could just stream it to all of their phones at once and view them together.
