new apple tv
CES 2015 was overwhelmed by the smart home concept, with many manufacturers announcing their own home automation systems, while others showing off their Apple HomeKit enabled devices. And thanks to anonymous disclosures by the company spokespersons, we now probably know the exact role of Apple TV in HomeKit.
Gene Munster, an analyst at Piper Jaffray, is known for his predictions about Apple’s television set. Well, failed predictions, to be exact. Even after all of his predictions were proved wrong, Munster still doesn’t want to give up on the long-rumored Apple television, as he has now places the Apple HDTV launch date for sometime in 2016.
Last time, we reported that the Apple affiliated chip makers have started shipping MFi enabled chips to HomeKit accessory makers. And now, more reports suggest that HomeKit appliances will hit the shelves soon, as Apple has started accepting product plans from device manufacturers regarding the same.
Is Apple TV getting a refresh on October 16th?
Apple just send out invites to their next event. The Cupertino company is notorious for hiding clues in their invites, as to what to expect at their events. And the one for October 16th reads: “Its been way too long”. Though most rumors point to an early 2015 release of the next Apple TV, the tagline of the invite is somewhat promising.
