You may recall that Apple TV Hacks broke some news for you last week regarding that fact that HBO was in talks with Apple regarding the idea of getting HBO GO on your Apple TV. Well, it would seem that, for now, the company’s answer is AirPlay. HBO’s Eric Kessler announced, at AllThingsD’s Dive Into Media Conference on Tuesday, that his company is finally enabling AirPlay on the HBO Go app. He also said that a dedicated Apple TV app will be added “at some point.”

Well, nothing came of the story last time, but now AppleInsider is at it again, reporting that the German company saw its shares jump up considerably after these rumors arose again on Wednesday, in German markets. You may have noticed our article discussing the Media Event Apple has set for March to discuss the television (whatever that means), perhaps this story has something to do with it all. Enticed yet?

Apple has just released Apple TV software update 5.2 for the 2nd and 3rd generation Apple TV, adding Bluetooth keyboard support, iTunes in the Cloud and AirPlay audio for videos. The update also includes some performance and stability improvements with the iTunes Store, AirPlay, Netflix, iTunes Match, and wired Ethernet connections.

Apple TV 2 users waiting for iOS 6.1 jailbreak should not upgrade until evad3rs team says the update is safe. We will keep you updated.
