FireCore released aTV Flash (black) 2.0 for the 2nd generation Apple TV. Version 2.0 adds a ton of new features “that make browsing and watching media on the Apple TV more enjoyable than ever.” aTV Flash (black) 2.0 adds new Library View, fully integrated search, trakt.tv syncing, Last.fm scrobbling and much more. Version 2.0 is a free update for all current aTV Flash (black) users.
During today’s conference at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco, along with a brand new iPhone 5, Apple introduced a fifth generation iPod touch that now supports AirPlay Mirroring that lets you wirelessly stream what’s on your iPod touch to your HDTV and speakers via Apple TV. This makes a new generation iPod touch a fifth Apple’s device that supports AirPlay Mirrorng: up until now the feature has been available on iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and iPad 3. It will also be supported on the iPhone 5.
Finally! Apple TV 2 is getting some support inside of the next redsn0w release. Though it is still in the works, and there is only a developers version available, Twitter has begun to buzz with the sound of well known jailbreaking, iOS, and Apple TV devs talking Apple TV support in redsn0w. At the moment it is not entirely clear what the end product will be regarding its functionality and features offered to the Apple TV 2.
Remember last week when pod2g tweeted that neither he nor anyone he knows of was working on the Apple TV 3 jailbreak? We asked you to cool down and to never lose a hope since we knew there were people working on this. The confirmation that the work is ongoing on this particular jailbreak came from 9to5Mac, as they have learned that „a jailbreak for the third-generation Apple TV is indeed in the works from someone with close knowledge of the project“:
iOS hacker and Chronic Dev Team member pod2g announced on his Twitter that he is not working on Apple TV 3 jailbreak. Even worse, according to his recent tweet, no one he’s aware of is working on this jailbreak:
Desperately awaiting the release of a jailbreak for Apple TV 3? It may take a while, you know that, right?
