Air Show, an iOS app that lets users preview, select and edit images on their iPhone/iPad screen while simultaneously displaying the more polished view on an HDTV screen via Apple TV, has been recently updated to support iPhone 5 and iOS 6. Air Show now also lets you add color captions and soundtrack to your real-time photo presentation.

Fans of the Apple TV who prefer to make their own rules have been waiting patiently for news of a jailbreak for the Apple TV 3. But while JailbreakCon 2012 had a lot to offer for many, fans of the Apple TV were left with very few hard facts. There were obviously no demonstrations of any new jailbreak, and nitoTV had even less information to share on future availability.
Apple has just updated the second and third-generation Apple TV software to version 5.1 (build 10A406e). The biggest changes include support for Shared Photo Streams, the ability to switch between iTunes accounts and to send audio content from Apple TV to AirPlay-enabled speakers and devices. Apple TV 2 jailbreakers: as always – stay away from this update for now if you don’t want to lose your jailbreak.

Once you install it on each of your iDevices, don’t forget to check out the newest version of AirServer (for Mac or PC) which has already been re-engineered for iOS 6. The new AirServer includes 1080p HD mirroring, content streaming and better support for video-on-demand apps like Netflix. The PC version hits version 1.0 and is now feature complete, with audio, movie and photo streaming.
During today’s conference at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco, along with a brand new iPhone 5, Apple introduced a fifth generation iPod touch that now supports AirPlay Mirroring that lets you wirelessly stream what’s on your iPod touch to your HDTV and speakers via Apple TV. This makes a new generation iPod touch a fifth Apple’s device that supports AirPlay Mirrorng: up until now the feature has been available on iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and iPad 3. It will also be supported on the iPhone 5.
Splitmo, a company dedicated to creating mobile apps that leverage ‘dual screen’ technologies, has released its first app called Air Show (free in the App Store).
