AirMyPC, a powerful AirPlay client for PC, has been updated to fully support the new Apple TV. AirMyPC lets you wirelessly mirror your Windows computer screen and sound to your Apple TV using Apple’s AirPlay technology. It also brings specific-app mirroring and it can even mirror the computer webcam and microphone.
Pluto TV, a video streaming service targeting cord cutters, released its app for the new Apple TV. Pluto TV is a free online television service broadcasting 100+ channels full of TV shows, movies and internet videos. The lineup is said to be hand-picked by people “who know and love entertainment.”
Disney launched Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition starter pack for the new Apple TV. It includes the SteelSeries Nimbus Wireless Controller and a black Bluetooth Disney Infinity Base and it is available now at Apple retail stores. The new Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition game is now available on the Apple TV App Store.
Apple today released the second beta of tvOS 9.1 for Apple TV 4. No visual changes have been discovered yet, so it looks like the new beta only includes typical bug fixes and stability improvements. The release notes for this update include references to networking and scrolling tweaks.
The new Apple TV doesn’t feature a web browser and the developers are not allowed to create third-party browsers for tvOS. At least not officially. Forking an exisiting GitHub project posted by Steven Troughton-Smith’s, a Dutch developer jvanakker has built a native tvOS browser for Apple TV 4.
Tupil has today released Beamer 3.0, a major upgrade to their Mac OS X video streaming app that allows users to stream any video file from a Mac to any Apple TV, Chromecast or Google Cast-supported HDTV. Version 3.0 brings a redesigned interface, improved playlist controls, new sound playback and subtitle options, quick selection of playback options and support for Chromecast devices.
