All eyes are swiftly turning towards Apple’s fall media event, as they have at this point for years now. Most Apple fans are hoping against hope for unexpected updates to the iPad, iPhone and iPod, even as rumors have been swirling about changes coming for the increasingly popular Apple TV platform.
According to our friends at 9to5mac.com, the rumors may have some grounding in reality. A was recently granted to everyone’s favorite computing and entertainment giant that suggests the Apple TV will soon be able to connect into live television broadcasts, as well as record new shows with a DVR-esque application.

Finally! Apple TV 2 is getting some support inside of the next redsn0w release. Though it is still in the works, and there is only a developers version available, Twitter has begun to buzz with the sound of well known jailbreaking, iOS, and Apple TV devs talking Apple TV support in redsn0w. At the moment it is not entirely clear what the end product will be regarding its functionality and features offered to the Apple TV 2.

Remember last week when pod2g tweeted that neither he nor anyone he knows of was working on the Apple TV 3 jailbreak? We asked you to cool down and to never lose a hope since we knew there were people working on this. The confirmation that the work is ongoing on this particular jailbreak came from 9to5Mac, as they have learned that „a jailbreak for the third-generation Apple TV is indeed in the works from someone with close knowledge of the project“:
