The service is very cool and I test to 30 day trial, but the sound is only PCM (stereo), no DD5.1 or DTS. Content is not very actual or complete. You will not fine a James Bond movie or actual content from 2012. So nice try. I will not sign th contract after the trial, because I would like to see the movie with 5.1 sound. So I will still rent a blueray (cheaper than Apple) or watch it direct from Apple.

Out of interest.. I’m wondering if the DNS trick would work for Netflix US on a UK Apple TV including changing the ITunes Store to Germany.. would this show up ‘Whatever TV’?

This is good and sad news at the same time. As long as the content providers don’t realize that consumers are willing to pay for content but don’t want to be limited in terms of when they can watch something (e.g. release in europe 6 months after US), they’ll continue losing the battle against free/illegal alternatives. I tried to buy a digital download from amazon’s german site a while ago, and was not allowed to since i was not in germany. The title was not available elsewhere in a legal manner, so what were my options?

I wish we could get a similar service in Australia. If Netflix (or Watchever) were available here I’d happily subscribe for $10-15 per month.
