Thanks for posting this. I’ve had my original AppleTV sitting around gathering dust. This certainly adds life to it – especially being able to access video files over the network and Airplay. Only issue was getting it to install but that was due to the specific USB stick having issues(2gb memorex), it was old and I remember the xbox having issues with it. Tried another stick and it installed no problem. During install it gave and error about partions not matching – I think

If you mean the actual “Apple TV” menu? Then I believe there isn’t one anymore. The installer warns you that you are going to wipe and delete everything on your AppleTV – that means the OS too. So I don’t think there is a way to get back to the Apple interface without a reinstall

Has anyone gotten live OTA TV (i.e., ATSC) working on an Apple TV? Here’s my setup: Antenna (ATSC) > HDHomerun (MPEG2) > Mac Mini (MythTV backend) > Apple TV 2 (XBMC). The ATV2 is constantly buffering the live TV stream, most likely because it is MPEG2. Assuming that’s the issue, the only way I believe I can solve this is to use a Hauppauge Broadway, instead of the HDHomerun, since it has a built-in H.264 encoder. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

You morons are so interested in getting content published, you do not review, test or examine anything. Where was this article supposed to lead, it self-described as a tutorial with further pages, how to navigate to them is probably beyond such child-like coders as yourselves. Pointless, pathetic, give up.

On the apple remote its always menu menu etc. until you see exit or a power button icon. Click and it will go back to ATV.

probably a dumb question… but how do you get out of XMBC and return to the AppleTV menu when done. Currently, it seems I have to restart AppleTV to get out of the program.

quick question… i want to download movies from navi x to the harddrive on my time capsule .. it asks for the path .. i assign it but it produces an error .. any ideas.
