George, this app is still extremely valid and valuable for those of us who are still using pre-mid-2011 Macs. My household has two Mac Pros and one MacBook, all three of which were built prior to the Mountain Lion supported AirPlay Mirroring feature.
_______________________________________________________________________
From Apple's own web-site regarding Mountain Lion requirements:
AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer).
_______________________________________________________________________
Any machine built prior to those specs are not supported by Mountain Lion's AirPlay Mirroring functionality. As a result, AirParrot is still a very valid app in the marketplace for the rest of us who are happy with our current Macs.
