Just a couple things I ran into

- I did needed to have the power connected as well. So I connected the power and USB, then held the 2 buttons on the remote control. (for as long as it took for seasonpass to notice my apple tv in the correct mode)

- My first attempt didn’t work, I did needed to flash the Apple TV back using Itunes to get real fresh start

- My Itunes was running fullscreen, this will cause the script to fail. If Itunes starts full screen, normalise it back to window mode. Stop tunes, and restart the whole process

When an hdmi is connected a two way link ( between atv and tv) that allows the devices to work together and decide what the best resolution that they can display. Two factors come into play. They are the firmwares of both devices. I know what you are thinking. It’s ” omg my tv actually does have its own firmware”. I thought the same thing. It appears that in most televisions, there is a USB port. you can update the firmware on your television and it will make sure the tv will display the signal that the atv is providing correctly
