After pressing the 2 remote keys for 7+ seconds, iTunes pops up with the “Restore to factory settings” dialog. Then it does nothing, event after I left it for 30 minutes, while I had a glass oof Pinot Noir. It stayed hug on “waiting for device to enter DFU mode”. I’m running the new untethered Seasonpass v0.7.4, iTunes 10.2.1, Mac OSX 10.6.7, with ATV2 IOS 4.2.1 (i.e. patched to current). I tried 2 different micr usb cables, both new. The usb is plugged into a kensington usb extender, would that be a problem? It shouldn’t affect anything. I’ll give that a try next weekend, when I next have 15 minutes to play with this toy. In the meantime, any suggestions would be nice.

If I boot tethered, I can access the Apple TV and install software fine.

Has anyone had any luck getting this to boot untethered when this didn’t work for them initially? Is it possible that the Apple TV had the upgraded version so, took the jailbreak fine but, couldn’t get it to work untethered?
