I say it needs to be more of a computer than a mobile device. Just me but.. here are the things it will have to have before I will buy.

#1 FLASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if I'm supposed to buy this and sit on the couch at home and browse the web, I need flash. If it does not have flash you simply do not have a better experience of web browsing. YOU HAVE A LIMITED EXPERIENCE.

That alone would really change the reviews.

But to really hit a homerun, It also needs better video out, iSight & ability to share files on a home network. ie finder. oh yeah & multitasking.

I want to be able to listen to Sirius while i check my email for example.

again doesn't replace a laptop, and doesn't replace my ipod touch, It's just a bigger ipod touch. Which I don't need.

Until it has at least flash they won't get me.

What Apple really should have focused on rather than making a really big iPhone…

Qwerty Keyboard for ATV
Breaking down the proprietary walls furthering the user friendly aspects of Apple products. (I have noticed the Mr. Jail that Mr. Jobs seems to be becoming has really disenfranchised the veteran Apple user).

Apple just set themselves back practically 10 years technology wise. It doesnt even support multi-tasking. HURRY FOR THE HP SLATE.

The iPad dramatically simplifies computing. Like most of Apple's products, it's for just about everyone BUT geeks. Geeks will still want the most possible control over their computer. Hell, geeks will want access to the file system.

The iPad is Apple's shot at an entirely new generation of computing. One where you will probably never hear terms like "AFP or SMB drive." Maybe that tech will be available to developers for their apps, but the end user will never hear those terms because they don't need to.

In other words, the iPad and iPhone OS are finally the "it just works" platform that Apple has been striving for all this time. *That's* the revolution.

I would be a self-professed gadget loving geek; my wife being the "why do you want another expensive gadget for?" type of person, she never wanted anything beyond the basic shufflle.

Yet, after watching the video of the iPad, while I was thinking "wow, it's cool"; my wife's reaction was "I want one!"

Turns out the iPad does for her what the iPod and iPhone don't do for her. The screen is large enough for her to see without her glasses; it is larger than the portable DVD player we take on trips, with a much longer lasting battery. It is much lighter than any of our laptops.

She did say it needed a camera, and it is probably going to be in a later incarnation; but Apple is making a lot of money from people like her, and they will probably continue to do so.
