I see post nearly 3 or 4 years old addressing questions about aTV 2's. How long has the ATV 2 been out. I bought mine jaibraken (is that a word) with SB. GhostScript seems the way to go but I thought the ATV 2 was sorta new. Yes mine is "brand" new but has this ATV 2 model truly been out 3 or so years?

Darned guys… I see post nearly 3 or 4 years old addressing questions about aTV 2′s. But you may have to install XBMC first (a free plugin that is installable through nitoTV) to play them correctly.

Sure thing! HD capacities ($180 for 1.5TB!) make converting to H.264 a waste of time. How about a bounty for this, similar to USB drive bounty?

Same as 34, 33, 32. It is seamless and plays virtually everything I have given it so far.

This alone convinced me to by Apple TV.<br

I have the same exact issue. My DVD collection is ripped and available on my home NAS. I just don't have a good way of getting to my HiDefTV. Enter Appletv with NITO. Anyone out there with the solution on just how to make this work?

Steve,<br

I store all of my movies in that format on a NAS at home and have 3 AppleTV's pulling content over the wireless network. In order to do this today with the default software on the AppleTV I have to convert the VOB files to MP4 format using a software package called handbrake (it does take a few hours). Then I have to import the mp4 file into iTunes. Once in iTunes, I have to find the album art off the web and add it into iTunes. Once that is done iTunes has to be running on my PC - it acts as the streaming media server. I do not want to store any media files on the AppleTV except for photos - Its only 160GB and my NAS is over a TB. Plus, I have very limited space to throw a TB of storage behind each of my 3 wall mounted LCDs (no can do)
Do you have suggestions here or do I just keep going through the pains of converting to mp4 or m4v format???

My question for you is will this software allow me to play the raw VOB files in a VideoTS folder from a network share?<br
