Okay Will, do you have an Apple TV? Do you realise you do not have to sync content to be able to play it on atv? It does stream you know.

So the idea is when you download something you need to store in somewhere right? so instead of storing it on your PC/Mac or drive connected to your PC/Mac why not store it instead on a drive connected to your AppleTV? That to me sounds like the holy grail of hacking the AppleTV. Every single movie and TV show i have being in a library that is available instantly to watch.

The fact you mentioned itunes though makes me wonder whether you realise the benefit of this is for people who do not use itunes to watch their files on atv.
